Need a band?... The Alexandria Kleztet could be a part of your next wedding, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, or other simcha! Our professionalism, musical experience, and diversity make us an ideal choice. We can provide music for your ceremony, background music for hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, and dinner, as well as lively klezmer, Yiddish, Hebrew, and Israeli classics for dancing. And, of course, an extended "hora medley" is our specialty. On our CDs, we sometimes take a fairly non-traditional approach to our material. We typically perform as a four-piece ensemble: assorted woodwinds (clarinet, flute, and saxophone), violin, bass, and drums/percussion. With this lineup, we can perform a wide variety of Jewish music: klezmer, Hebrew, Israeli, and Yiddish. We can also perform some light classical, jazz, swing, and ballroom-type selections. This lineup does not include a vocalist. We can provide music for both cocktails (background), and dancing, if desired. An extended hora medley is frequently part of our repertoire at a simcha. We can also play for ceremonies at a wedding. Sometimes, we'll augment the band with an additional musician or two if it's necessary to expand our repertoire for a specific event. |

In addition to private functions, the Alexandria Kleztet maintains a busy schedule of public performances at bookstores, coffee shops, festivals, etc, where we love to play the innovative and exciting brand of "alternative klezmer" that makes us so unique.
